IAUC To Meet in Baltimore

  Peace Agreement, Holder  Subpoena of Boston College Records & Campaign to Re-Unite Ireland Topics

Denver, CO, Washington, D. C. & Baltimore, MD September 21  National IAUC President Thomas J. Burke Jr.  announced today that the biennial meeting of  the  human rights and justice  activist group will be convened in Baltimore, MD on Saturday, October 13th.  The organization, established in 1986 is a nationwide, nonpartisan, nonsectarian educational  organization working for justice and peace in  a re-united Ireland.  Stated  President Burke:  “There is much work to be done in America educating the public and Members of Congress on British efforts to undermine the peace process.  We invite the public to join our meetings and discussion groups to get up-to-date information on developments both here and in Ireland.”

Vice-President Joe Farrell announced that Eamonn Dornan  the lead attorney in the court fight against Attorney General Holder  and his attempt to turn tapes in the  Irish archives of Boston  College over to the British government will be  the luncheon speaker.  Ms. Sarah McAuliffe-Bellin, a member of the National Board from Pittsburgh, PA, indicated that David Cullinane a Sinn Fein Councillor from Ireland  will address the meeting.  Former National President of the AOH and former National President of the IAUC Joe Roche (Bel-Air, MD) and Sean Pender AOH National Board member ( Hamilton, NJ)  and  others will join  panels that will explore the countdown to Ireland’s re-unification by the 100th anniversary of the Easter Proclamation.  “All those interested in challenging  British spin in American media,   discovering the  truth about the Dublin-Monaghan bombings as well as  the  British admitted slaying of attorney Patrick Finucane are  welcome to join  the discussion of  strategy and tactics.”

“There are many still smoldering dimensions of the Irish conflict , stated  Board member and attorney Pete Kissel of Washington, D. C., “such as the British misuse  of the U. S.-U. K. Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty,  their internment of Gerry McGeough, Marian Price and Martin Corey and the massive cover-up of State sponsored murder of Catholics, all of which need to be exposed by  American voices and activism.”
